These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of youngpeoplesalliance.org and related subdomains (the "Site"), operated by Young People's Alliance ("YPA," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Use of the Site
You may use the Site to learn about YPA's advocacy and organizing work, join as a member, apply to be an Ally, subscribe to our newsletter, or make a donation. You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and not to:
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site or its underlying infrastructure
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, other users' accounts, or our systems
- Use the Site to transmit any unlawful, harassing, or fraudulent content
- Scrape or harvest data from the Site except as permitted by our Privacy Policy or applicable law
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
Membership and Donations
Membership dues and donations are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. By submitting a payment, you authorize the charge described at checkout. Recurring memberships will renew automatically at the stated interval until cancelled; you can cancel or manage your membership by contacting us at press@youngpeoplesalliance.org. Donations to YPA are generally non-refundable, except where required by law; contact us if you believe a payment was made in error.
Intellectual Property
The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, and the YPA name and marks — are owned by YPA or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission, except as permitted for personal, non-commercial use (such as sharing a link to a page) or fair use.
User Submissions
If you submit content to us through the Site (for example, through a form, testimonial, or Ally application), you grant YPA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with our advocacy, organizing, and communications work. You represent that you have the right to submit that content and that it does not violate any third party's rights.
Third-Party Links and Tools
The Site may link to or use third-party services, including Stripe, Givebutter, and our organizing platform Assembly, and — where you consent to cookies — advertising and analytics tools such as the Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, and Google Analytics (see our Privacy Policy for details). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site or service.
Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, YPA and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
